2021-2022 Online Learning Options
Online College Degree Program – Grades 7 – 12
Eligibility
Open to students who are in Dual Enrollment or Advanced Honors Classes. MAP, PERT, ACT, or SAT scores can be used.
Students must maintain an 3.2 unweighted GPA average, with no grades below a C+.
Program Description
The Online College Degree Program is designed for students who have shown the aptitude to succeed in an early college program but require the flexibility of taking classes online. Students will participate in live classes with a combination of in person and online students. This includes a combination of Pre-AP, AP, and Dual Enrollment classes designed to allow a student to receive an Associate of Arts Degree at the same time as their High School Diploma.
Students will log in to their academic classes (math, science, social studies, and english) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The students will be participating live with other classmates as they learn from and interact with their teacher during a block period.
Students have the option of participating in online elective courses or in person elective courses on Tuesdays and Thursdays, along with all the traditional in person social events, such as dances, athletics, and clubs.
Academic Course Sequence
Students can join in any grade from grades 7 – 11. The courses they begin with will be based on what they have accomplished. The grades are used as a guideline only.
Students must test into Dual Enrollment. Students who test into Dual Enrollment before 11th grade will be able to begin taking Dual Enrollment classes earlier.

Electives
Students will have the opportunity to choose from dozens of possible electives, both online or in person, as middle school, high school, and college level courses. Subjects include marketing, nursing, law studies, computer science, 3D printing, engine repair, visual arts, performing arts, culinary, athletics, accounting, business, finance, agriculture, foreign languages, statistics, fashion and design, broadcasting, dance, SAT prep, college portfolio development, and more!
Cost
The cost of the program is covered as part of a family’s normal Munroe tuition. Note that some classes may have an additional textbook purchasing requirement.

- Can my child come and go as an in person or online student?
Most of the time, a student in their academic classes is either in person or online. This allows the student to prepare. Parents may request a change in status at any time during the year and the school will work to meet this request as the situation allows. - Is there a discount to tuition?
For the Degree Program, the tuition and fees are the same for in person students and online students. - What are the technology requirements?
Students in grades 7 – 9 are provided with a school device. Older students will need to get their device approved by the Munroe Technology Department. - Can my child be online Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and come to school for electives on Tuesday and Thursday?
We have an extensive elective program on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Many of the classes necessitate an in person experience, such as athletics classes, art, and theater. Online students are welcome to come to school just on elective days. - With my child online, how are they assessed?
Students will experience a variety of online assessments, but it may be necessary for them to come to campus on specific testing days to complete in person assessments. This includes midterm and final exams, which are always given in person. These days are set well in advance to enable families to plan ahead for them.
Munroe High School Hybrid Online Program – Grades 9 – 12
Eligibility
Open to all students in grades 9 – 12 who meet Munroe’s normal admission requirements. Students must maintain a 2.0 unweighted GPA and pass all their academic courses or they may be dropped from the program.
Program Description
This is a non-honors option for families looking for the flexibility of an online education, but with quality live instruction from a Munroe teacher and the opportunity to participate in traditional high school experiences such as dances, athletics, clubs, and electives. The program is a college preparatory program designed to assure students meet all graduation and college placement requirements.
Students participate online on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, taking math, science, English, and social studies with other online students and a live teacher. After school practices are available for students participating in athletics.
On Tuesday and Thursdays students can elect to participate in person or stay online for their elective classes.

- Can my child come and go as an in person or online student?
On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, all classes are online, with no option for in person learning. Tuesday and Thursdays give the option of in person or online, but switching from online to in person will only be available at the semester. - Is there a discount to tuition?
Yes! Need based scholarships are available exclusively for students in this program. - What are the technology requirements?
Students must provide their own technology. The system chosen must support Google Education Apps. A windows laptop, chromebook, or iPad will often meet the requirements. A cell phone is not appropriate for online learning. - Can my child be online Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and come to school for electives on Tuesday and Thursday?
